The legend Juan Atkins continues the dutiful reissue campaign on his own Metroplex imprint with this reissue/remaster of the classic Model 500 12” I See The Light / Pick Up The Flow. Originally released in the spring of 1993, these two tracks remain crown jewels in the vaunted history of Detroit techno. I See The Light on the A aside slings radar-like synth patches over a rubbery low-end heave that feels like a discrete influence on footwork in hindsight. Pick Up The Flow on the flip pairs smooth chords and a smoother vocal over some hyperactive drum machine kicks to nice effect, as well.
